St. Leo’s College of Sciences and Technologies Kasese was established in 2021 in Kidodo Cell, Railway Ward, Central Division, Kasese Municipality, near the Kidodo Catholic Parish/ Kidodo Airtel Musk.

The idea was conceived by a team of Engineers and Technicians who double as Technical Teacher Educators. Though originally from Kasese, they had been teaching in Universities and Technical Colleges across Uganda. During that time, they observed two pressing challenges:
1. Kasese had Technical Institutes offering only Certificate-level courses, yet many learners needed to upgrade to National Diplomas in Engineering and other Technology fields.
2. A large percentage of students — and even staff — in those distant colleges were natives of Kasese. Long distances, transport costs, and limited incomes were forcing talented learners to abandon their dreams of higher technical training.
To bridge this gap, St. Leo’s was founded as a homegrown solution: a college that trains students at both National Certificate and National Diploma levels, right here in Kasese.
What began as a vision to serve local technicians has grown into a center for Sciences, Engineering, and Technology education.
